FAQ

Fencing Questions:

Do I need a permit for my fence?

Most boroughs and townships require a permit for a fence. Each municipality has their own set of rules and regulations for fences, and process of submitting permits. You can often find this information on the township website. It’s usually under the zoning permit header.

We do offer the convenience of obtaining the permit for you at an additional fee.

What type of fence is most cost effective?

Split Rail and Chain link are usually the 2 least expensive options for fencing. Some other wood options that are a bit more decorative are very cost effective as well.

What options do I have to enclose a pool?

Almost all fencing options can be considered as pool barriers, when following specific guidelines and specifications.

How do I determine my property boundaries?

Many municipalities will need confirmation that you know where your property line is prior to approving a permit.

How is pricing determined?

Many factors go into determining the cost of a fence. Materials pricing varies as well as different factors that come into play during installation. Distance we have to travel also plays a big role.

Are posts set in concrete?

Wood options like split rail and slip board typically do not need concrete except for gate posts.

How long will my fence last?

Wood options such as treated split rail and slip board as well as cedar privacy or picket can last anywhere from 12 – 15 years, but is also relative to the surrounding natural habitat of your property. There are some premium wood options that can potentially last closer to 20 years.

Is there a warranty?

Ask about warranties related to the individual material options offered as they vary by product and supplier.

What do I need to do prior to getting a fence?

Prepping the area may include other necessary tree or landscaping work that you are planning to have completed, especially if it is in the area of the fence location or will impact the location of the fence.
